Dana came up with the idea of The Golden Tale story when she was ten years old. The writings were safely stored by her Grandma Anmarie as keepsakes from a dear granddaughter, and returned to her nine years later. With a few edits and colorful illustrations by Erin O'Leary Brown of New York, The Golden Tale became her first published children's book.

Dana and her mother, Catherine, have partnered to developed the Write Happy & Share the Fun! series of children's books. Titles include The Golden Tale, A Goldentail Adventure Story Book, The Treaured Homes, The Visitor's Surprise, Here Little Teacup! Up! Up!, Murphy's Catch, Murphy's Collection and Murphy's Snow Pal.
